Founded in 2007
A bold vision


CU-ICAR started as a bold idea to build South Carolina’s talent and innovation pipeline for the automotive industry. Since then, CU-ICAR has evolved into an advanced technology research campus where education, research and economic development converge to create a global venue for industry. Now home to the country’s first undergraduate and graduate programs in automotive engineering, CU-ICAR attracts the brightest minds and builds high impact partnerships to solve the most pressing challenges facing the industry today.
