Student Engagement

Capstone Projects
Working with teams of undergraduate engineering students and faculty advisors, our industry partners pose real-world challenges to be solved during the course of a semester. These projects give employers valuable exposure to prospective future hires during the senior year of their study.
Creative Inquiry
Similar to capstone projects, the Creative Inquiry program is an undergraduate experiential learning opportunity for our students. These projects can be multiple semesters in duration, involve closer collaboration with faculty members, and typically involve multi-disciplinary teams from different university departments to dive deeper into larger research questions.
Internships
Clemson University, and specific departments like Automotive Engineering, facilitate summer and semester-long internships. An internship is an integral, required part of the automotive engineering program and typically occurs in the spring and summer of the students’ second year of study.
Fellowships and Scholarships
Invest in the future of Clemson University and be a part of building the talent pipeline for the future of the mobility industry by sponsoring or endowing fellowships or scholarships at CU-ICAR.
CU-ICAR Campus
Research & Corporate Space

Facilities and R&D
With more than 200 acres available, spread across 5 technology neighborhoods, CU-ICAR can work with expanding companies in most industry sectors to find a fit on campus. The Clemson University Land Stewardship Foundation (CULSF) can develop properties to suit our partners’ needs – from 5,000 to 500,000 square feet and beyond.
Flexible Office-Space
Our Tech Café serves as a landing pad for branch offices for companies expanding from global headquarters, or as a launching pad for start-ups or smaller businesses growing in Greenville. The Tech Café and other flexible spaces – with flexible terms – are available on campus to meet the needs of industry.
Campus Development Opportunities
The CU-ICAR leadership works closely with local, regional and state economic development organizations to facilitate new projects on campus with the intent to drive economic development in the region and build lasting corporate partnerships with Clemson University.
