During SC Auto Week, SAE Carolina Section and Southern Automotive Women’s Forum (SAWF) present “Women Driving the Industry” at CU-ICAR. This unique networking opportunity provides insights from women in the automotive industry as they share glimpses into their career experiences – this promises to be a learning experience for both male and female professionals or students. Inspiring presentations will be followed by an interactive panel question and answer session.

CU-ICAR and Clemson University’s Department of Automotive Engineering is hosting it’s first Engineering Encounter on Friday February 5th. The day-long field trip features an intro workshop called “CU-ICAR 101”, an immersive tour of our world class lab and a hands on “DEEP ORANGE” activity.
Join CU-ICAR and our partners for a cookout and homecoming celebration for the sixth generation Deep Orange vehicle, the TOYOTA uBOX. After it’s unveiling in Detroit, the car is back in its home town and will be on display at Toyota of Greenville Monday June 6th from 4:30 -6:30PM. From the South Carolina Automotive Council: Automobiles are evolving from modes of transportation to nodes in technology and communication networks. Like the connected car, the South Carolina Automotive Summit will link attendees to a broad web of thought leadership, best practices and brilliant disruptors in the automotive industry and beyond.
The Society of Automotive Engineers’ World Congress, rebranded this year as WCX17: SAE World Congress Experience, will take place April 4-6 at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan, USA. While the mobility industry continues to invest in the research and development of connected and automated vehicles (CAVs), it also realizes that a great deal of testing and validation is needed to ensure optimal safety. The time is now to establish standards, share best practices, and propel this technology into the next generation.
